Southern Hospitality Heart of Summerfield Farms

I’ve lived in North Carolina over 10 years and I am still blown away at how beautiful the land and people are. I fell in love with Summerfield Farms while looking for things to do in High Point, NC. Summerfield Farms is settled on over 600 acres in the heart of Summerfield, North Carolina. I felt the southern hospitality as soon as I arrived on the farm. There’s just something about North Carolina’s and Southern Hospitality.  Summerfield Farms has been welcoming folks to the farm with a big helping of southern hospitality since 2012. I made of things to do if you visiting farm.

Jumpsuit Asos  | Sandals – Forever21   Sunglasses – Urban Outfitters

There so many heartfelt things to do this summer at Summerfields Farm from visiting the market, garden or even spending the night, you won’t miss a thing. I wanted to wear something colorful so I choose this Cut-Out Jumpsuit from Asos, with floral sandals from Forever21 and paired it with yellow sunglasses from Urban Outfitters. I couldn’t get over how nice and welcoming everyone was at Summerfield farms. It should be on your to do list if you get to visit this part of town. Here is a list of things to do:

15 Things To Do At Summerfield Farms

  1. Music Monday– Every Monday a pop & rock musi performed by local band. There is always food and drinks such aswine, beer, & snacks available for purchase.
  2. Terrace Thursday – Food and Wine Every Thursday you are welcome  to drop by after work for a bite to eat, to grab a drink with friends or a client and to enjoy rooftop views. This is a casual, floating event from 5-8pm.
  3. Volunteer in the Garden – There are several fun activites planned through out the summer to get involved at summerfields Garden.
  4. Flag Day Coloring – Drop by between 3-5pm for some Flag Day coloring fun! kids can color away on The Back Porch while adults can enjoy a cold beverage & enjoy the views. Coloring sheets can be picked up inside The Market at the register. June 14th
  5. Visit the Market You shop your wine, beef and fresh fruits at the market while visiting the farm. This was one of my favorite place at the farm
  6.  Visit the Farm Summerfield Farms offers beyond organic poultry, herd of cattle are provided with some of the most diverse grasses in the Piedmont. They go above and beyond to nurture and care for the welfare of their animals in an effort to raise high-quality, great-tasting, nutrient-dense beef.
  7. Carrot Crop Collecting – Garden volunteers come together with staff to grow and enjoy fresh organic food, acquire sustainable living skills, support local agriculture, enjoy nature, make new friends, and build community. We welcome volunteers ages 5 & up. Ages 5-17 must be accompanied by a parent. June 6th
  8. Blueberry Picking – Enjoy Blueberry picking at the garden on July 18th
  9. Squash Harvest – August 1st
  10. Garlic Gleaning – June 20th
  11. Wine Tasting – Flavors of South Africa is a farm-to-table dining experience in the historic barn at Summer field Farms. South African-based winemakers, Rickety Bridge Winery, will be sharing their stories and knowledge along the way as you enjoy their wines paired with authentic South African cuisine by 1618 Concepts. There will be a5-course meal  on the rooftop terrace of The Barn. June 6th.
  12. Food Canning – Preserving fresh summer veggies is a big part of Carolina culture! Canning and preserving fresh, certified organic veggies is a great way to ensure you can enjoy these garden goodies all year long. Learn how to can in a hands-on setting in The Bungalow at Summerfield Farms. Plus, you’ll take home 2 jars of the veggies you can with you and leave with step-by-step directions on how to do it yourself at home.
  13. Host a Wedding – Summerfield farms is just 20 minutes northwest of downtown Greensboro, situated in the heart of Summerfield, North Carolina, amongst rolling countryside hills, Summerfield Farms is close in proximity to town yet, it feels like a far away oasis surrounded by nature. Charming barns, intimate cottages and cabins, and outdoor patios amongst the oaks accommodate up to 1,500 people.
  14. Stay The Night – Stay overnight on on a personal retreat or vacation with the family at the Carolina countryside farm. Watch the sun rise over lush green pastures. Attend farm events or have a secluded getaway in your ideal oasis. Renovated cottages and cabins with luxury amenities and scenic views create the perfect getaway.
  15. Flower Power – Visit the garden to help plant our sunflowers, zinnias, and poppies! Garden volunteers come together with staff to grow and enjoy fresh organic food, acquire sustainable living skills, support local agriculture, enjoy nature, make new friends, and build community. We welcome volunteers ages 5 & up. Ages 5-17 must be accompanied by a parent. Registration is required. June 13th.
