One of the best things I ever did was to invest in Myself
There are so many things pulling for our time, attention, and money. So many young girls and women find themselves pushing important things to the side and I’ve noticed that Men always go for what they want and put themselves first. So why not invest in things you’ve been pushing back and get to know yourself. I found that I am happier, when I get to do things I enjoy instead of what society tells me to do. I’m going to be sharing 7 Ways To Invest In Yourself in 2020
A Quick Back Story: Here are some of the transformations I’ve seen in my own life since I started investing in myself:
I struggled so much with finding myself and let outside voices dictate what they thought I should be doing. I felt like an outsider because I didn’t graduate college at the of 21 like everyone else. I mostly felt this way because some family members and friends made it seem like I wasn’t significant because I wasn’t doing so well with school and I felt like I was behind. After some self reflection I decided take matters into my own hands and pick a major I knew I enjoyed and would succeed in. I noticed major improvements right away. I was more confident and focused on myself. Here things I accomplished so far :
I started my blog sophmore year in College
I graduated college in 2016 at the age of 27 and also got My Master’s Degree at the age of 30.
I learned how to set healthy boundaries in relationships
I don’t wait on others to travel or do things I want to do
I work with major brands and traveled to Bali
This is to say it’s never too late to start investing in yourself when you feel stuck or not enough. Do things that make you feel like you!
7 Ways To Invest In Yourself In 2020
- Explore your creativity – We all have a fountain of creativity within us that has never been tapped or certainly hasn’t been used to its highest potential. Creativity, in any form, helps us to grow personally and professionally, to view problems and solutions in different ways. So much can change in just 1 year. You can change careers, start a new side hustle, move up in your current job, or simply create more happiness where you work now. Start YouTube, Blog, Fitness Lifestyle, Draw, anything you are good at is literary your source to highest self.
- Learn something new – I’m always looking for ways to learn new things which may also in turn increase my income. Taking classes and learning a new skill will always keep you ahead of curb.
- Evaluate your friendships – Make sure the people you surround yourself with bring out the best in you. Add and Subtract when needed. You deserve to have nurturing, fun and ambitious friendships.
- Go Outside – Take a walk/jog. Vitamin D is extremely important to our health and happiness, including helping to ward off depression. Guess what most of us don’t get during these cold winter months? Yup, Vitamin D! No wonder seasonal affective disorder (SAD) can affect so many this time of year. Just as I am recommending that you engage in some movement. Perhaps you can even pair the two by inviting your friend to go on a small hike or even just explore the local public park together.
- Drink and eat something good for you – I love making my juices and smoothies in the morning. I usually have cucumber and ginger or plain celery juice. It keeps me hydrated and cleanses my insides. Do the best you can and incorporate fruits and veggies into your daily routine.
- Take care of your body and mind – Book a massage, take care of your skin, and add vitamins/supplements to your routine. Get some sleep, meditate, and visit a therapist.
- Filter your social Media – Many of us live part of our lives online and it’s a great place to connect with like-minded folks. What I do recommend, though, is using social media smartly. This means unfollowing people that make you feel bad (whether it’s because you’re comparing yourself to their lives or because they post negative comments) and only engaging when you truly want to. If you need a break, then take a break. But, for me, nothing makes me feel better than when I narrow down my follow list to people I actually am happy to see in my feed daily.
You never lose when you invest in Yourself. You are enough, talented and capable of doing great things. Start where you are and use what you have, everything else will come. Clear out the self doubt and fear! Go be the best you and it will inspire those around you.
I have on a Cynthia Rowley sweater I found at TJ maxx! it’s such a statement piece. I have cucumber and ginger juice in my wine glass! (best way to drink green juice :)) Black jacket is from Boohoo and Bag & Jeans from Fashion Nova.
