Life wasn’t easy for anyone, but it was even harder for women” ~ Cable Girls

I shared this on my Instagram. I came across Cable Girls on Netflix, it really resonated with me as passionate feminist. I am able to live unapologetically, but there so many women out there who don’t have access to such freedom and aren’t really afforded the access to learn that it’s okay to be themselves. I love talking about beauty and fashion which helps cope with the crazy things happening around us. sometimes I get riled up from things I hear and read on the news daily.

I stopped watching the news and filtered my Twitter feed because I get easily triggered and sensitive by harmful events. We come so far as a society but we still have so much work to do. I Just couldn’t stop thinking about all the things we women have to endure constantly from been policed about our looks, mannerisms and decisions. Still triggered by that video of the Nigerian senator slapping a woman in her place of work. I hope she is afforded justice. And many women in workplaces enduring assaults that weren’t able to speak up. I’m urging men to be accountable for their actions and look after the women around them. There is so much unlearning and unpacking to do from us all. Myself included.

“If you were a woman in 1928, freedom seemed impossible to achieve because to society we were just housewives and mothers. We didn’t have the right to have dreams or ambitions. To seek a future, many women had to travel far and wide and others had to confront the norms of a backward, chauvinist society. In the end, all of us, rich or poor, wanted the same thing: to be free… And if, to be free, we had to break the law, we were willing to do it, regardless of the consequences. Only those who fight for their dreams can achieve them”

I won’t stop talking about women’s rights until patriarchy and misogyny are addressed. The more we talk about these things, the less they are swept under the rug. We all deserve to love and respect each other equally.

Let me know your thoughts below? Also Have seen Cable Girls on Netflix ?

With Love Always,
